Family Love
I am a woman so blessed. I am almost embarrassed by my riches of family and love and laughter. At My other half, you can read about my great husband. Here, it’s all about the beautiful family he and I have inherited, created and gathered.
I have two children whom I love fiercely and I really like. As if that were not enough, they love and like me right back!
Annie, my first born, is a beautiful, wise, clear headed woman. She is the Executive Director of Partners For A Hunger Free Oregon. She points her head and heart in the direction of ending hunger before it begins. She is also a Deacon at her church, married to a fine man, Derek, and mother of my three beautiful grandchildren, Gracie, Danny and Etolin.
Peter is my delightful son. He is smart and kind and understands my humor better than most – well - he laughs at me more than anyone else. He also navigates his whole family through the mysterious world of scientific understanding. He is a Network Engineer at a tech firm and does things I don't exactly understand. His beautiful wife, Kelly, holds his heart. We love her, even if she wins almost every game we play.
Before she was born, Gracie captured my heart and ushered me into the Land of Grandparents. Now 10, she is my cooking, art, shopping and reading pal. I could go on. And on. And..
Danny dives into life and is constantly on the move. He is so much like his Papa that it is a little freaky. He loves to climb and run and fix and gives the best hugs and melts me with his laugh.
Etolin is pure delight and sunshine. Her tender heart and kind words are a rudder for us all. She can charm me into a better mood, and in her I see the joy of heaven. And...she can carry on a fascinating conversation on most any topic!
There is also a long list of people I have claimed as family along the way (and thankfully they have claimed me!). Wayward relatives, lost souls, awkward teens, growing disciples and dear friends have all blessed my table and guest room over the years and added love and meaning to the live I live. Family is the people you commit to, not just share DNA with. Mark and I are both committed.
